Sumario:The article discusses the relationship between Islam and modernity through referencing the thought and the poetry of the Muslim poet, artist and philosopher Muhammad Iqbal of Sialkot, current-day Pakistan. The relationship between Arabic culture and Islam, including the impact that the spreading of Islam played in the spreading of Arab culture, is discussed.
