| Resumo: | The article reflects on contextual Bible study notes for September Lectionary readings from the Gospel of Mark, chapters 7 to 9. The readings are taken from the central section of the Gospel of Mark which depict the successful ministry of Jesus Christ in Galilee. Jesus Christ shifted the debate over the notion of purity away from the traditional notions of purity as advocated by Pharisees. By doing so, Christ emphasizes the difference between human traditions and the commandments of God. |
