Sumario: | The author reflects on the Gospel of Mark 1:9-15 which relates the story of Jesus Christ's baptism, commissioning and forty days of testing. He says the encounter of Jesus with John the Baptist, is difficult to understand, because he believes a sinless person, like Jesus, does not need a baptism of repentance. He adds that a similar issue recurs in Jesus' meeting with the Holy Spirit, where he is thrust into the desert to be tested by Satan. He cites that the desert experience of Jesus should be considered more than a test of mere physical endurance. |
