Resumo:The article focuses on Reformation-era humanists Desiderius Erasmus and Thomas More and their understanding of error. Topics covered include how Erasmus and More portrayed making and correcting mistakes in dedicatory letters, devotional treatises, and ironic writings, Erasmus' life as a scholar devoted to correcting texts, and More's reputation as a zealous heretic hunter who condemned to death those who refused his correction. Also mentioned is the importance of error to the study of religion.
