This preliminary and limited study examines the first 10 Hebrew hapax legomena found in the Book of Proverbs by, first, considering how the LXX has translated them, and second, by comparing the LXX translation of the hapaxes with John Chrysostom's Commentary on the Book of Proverbs. Insofar as it examines the patristic writings, the present research can be useful for further text-critical studies on Proverbs as well as for research on the translation technique of LXX Proverbs.
