Descrição
Resumo:Scholars have used the term “enchantment” to describe a variety of disparate intellectual trends, affective registers, and social developments. Yet despite its prevalence as an academic concept, appraisals of enchantment itself rather than disenchantment or re-enchantment are, despite a few exceptions, practically nonexistent. This article considers recent scholarly work on disenchantment and re-enchantment in order to trace the contours of enchantment itself. It concludes with an appraisal of enchantment as an academic category.
