Summary:In the post-Cold-War era the Middle East is still of political and economic interest to the United States. As this article shows a resolution of the Arab-Israeli-Palestinian conflict would be advantageous to the region and to the United States. This article hence aims at outlining ways in which the United States could promote peace in the region. It is emphasized that one of the most important steps to take in order to achieve peace would be the realization of the UN land-for-peace formula. (DÜI-Mjr)
