Description
Summary:The figure of the canon lawyer is, perhpas, disappearing. Today, the Church needs ecclesiastical lawyers who are able to join together the truth of the Church - here, today - and the need to relate with the societies on which they live. The contemporary canonist must be a pracitical ecclesiologist and a lawyer enjoying a wide sprectrum of expertise so as to ensure truth and identity to the Church for an effective mission. The approach adopted in the study of Canon Law also makes a difference in achieving the right balance between ecclesiological truth and legal activity.
