The economic implications of transformations in Akan funeral rites
The author describes and analyses the funeral rites of the Akan people with special reference to their persistence and increase in scale. He examines the corresponding increase in expenditure on them and the relationship of the increasing expenditure to today's economy. (DÜI-Sen)
