AB A set of essays on the question - which is particularly relevant at present - about the admittance of women to the diaconate is presented. Such question is considered within the broader debate on both female ordained ministry and ordained ministry in general. The historical and theological-systematic aspects of the question are expounded, as well as the problems related to the sources and to a correct methodology to be used for the interpretation of data. The value of the contribution of Second Vatican Council on ministries and the value of stimulations arising at ecumenical level are analysed.
