In dem daran anschließenden Briefwechsel werden die entscheidenden Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen Böhler und Liedke in ihren Vorstellungen zu dialogischer und advokatorischer Assistenz in den Debatten um das Empowerment von Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung deutlich.

He points out why the transcendental pragmatic discourse ethics ofKarl-Otto Apel actually - and in contrast to the discourse theory of Jürgen Habermas - does take into consideration the case of advocacy in its principles of reaching consensus building. The follow-up correspondence between Böhler and Liedke clarifies the decisive agreements between them regarding their understanding of dialogue assistance and advocacy assistance in the debates about empowering humans with a mental handicap.
