Face à ces dérives s'impose l'urgence de relire le rôle de Marie de Magdala à l'aune de ce qu'en ont écrit les Pères grecs dont Romanos, pour rendre efficiente sa qualité « d'apôtre des apôtres ». | ||
| 520 | |a It is common in the West, since Gregory the Great, to gather several women from Jesus's circle into a single figure of the repentant woman sinner. Painting, literature and mysticism have all exploited this image; and it is on this borderline that myth, Scripture and tradition have just been intermingled, at the service of a theology of repentance rather than an apostolicity of the feminine. Hence the urgent need, in the light of these distortions, to reinterpret the role of Mary Magdalen against what the Greek Fathers (including Romanos) have written about it, in order to make her quality of "apostle to the apostles" effective. | ||
