總結:This article provides an analysis of Jerry Harvey's seminal article on the ethics of encouraging students to cheat. The author draws from classic theories like McGregor's Theory X and Y, Maslow's hierarchy of needs and Merton's self-fulfilling prophecy to argue for the underlying mechanisms based on which teachers view cheating as a negative and unethical act by students. Then, she relays Harvey's argumentation on how the dominant view on cheating is unethical and counterproductive, turning this view around to promote cheating as an act of altruism, collaboration and dignity.
