Pour autant, il peut exister des façons ambiguës de le promouvoir: notamment lorsque la vie conjugale se trouve présentée de manière idéalisée, c’est-à-dire à la fois parfaite, éthérée et atemporelle. Alors, cette vision ne soutient plus suffisamment le cheminement des couples, au contraire. De multiples facteurs (historiques, psychologiques, spirituels, sociétaux) pourraient expliquer cette tendance plus ou moins manifeste dans l’Église catholique, mais trop peu étudiée. Il en va de la crédibilité du discours ecclésial sur les réalités du couple et de la famille. Il en va surtout de sa capacité à accompagner les conjoints dans l’existence conjugale concrète. Renoncer au sublime pour accueillir le travail patient et quelques fois discret de la grâce dans l’histoire des époux: l’espérance chrétienne est à ce prix. 
520 |a Recently, the exhortation Amoris Lætitia recalled that the Catholic Church can’t give up proposing its ideal of marriage (§35). However, there may be ambiguous ways to promote it, especially when marital life is presented in an idealized way, i.e. at the same time perfect, ethereal and timeless. So, this vision does not support enough the path of couples, quite the opposite. Multiple factors (historical, psychological, spiritual, societal) could explain this tendency more or less manifest in the Catholic Church, but too little studied. The credibility of ecclesial discourse on the realities of the couple and the family is at stake. This is especially true of its ability to accompany spouses in concrete conjugal existence. Renouncing the sublime to welcome the patient and sometimes discreet work of grace in the history of the spouses: Christian hope is at this price.
