AB Als spirituelle und sakrale Räume können mit einem anthropologisch erweiterten Raumbegriff neben den neueren Räumen der Stille und Andachtsräumen bzw. den klassischen Kirchen- und Kapellenräumen auch „heilige Räume“ der Spiritualität und der Liturgie bezeichnet werden. Im Kontext von Spiritual Care können sie der Spiritualität kranker Menschen und derer, die sie pflegen, Raum geben sowie als sinnstiftend und heilsam erfahren werden. Dabei geht es um die Frage, was Menschen hilft, eine Offenheit für Transzendenz zu finden und die liebende Zuwendung Gottes zu erfahren.
AB Traditionally we see prayer and meditation rooms, churches and chapels as spiritual or sacral places. If we look at the phenomenon from an anthropological perspective, we find more “sacred spaces” in spirituality and liturgy. Seen in the context of spiritual care, they should give room to the spirituality of ill persons and those who take care for them providing an opportunity to seek meaning and healing. It is crucial for them to support people in developing an openness towards transcendence and experiencing the loving care of God.
