The poor are helped materially in their indigence but the basic welfare, with which the brothers of companies provide them, preserves them from sin, imperiled by the ignorance that poverty brings. The article is based on several sources but especially on the archives of the confraternities. If most of them are today defunct, their records are on the whole well-kept. | ||
