| Σύνοψη: | The article discusses changes in the material culture of South Arabia in Early Himyarite times (1st century BC – 3rd century AD). They are to be understood as an evolving process that was caused, among others, by external influences mainly from the Mediterranean cultural sphere. An analysis of this new formal language is based on selected objects above all from the archaeological project at Ğabal al-ʿAwd (Yemen). Der Beitrag diskutiert den Wandel der materiellen Kultur Südarabiens in frühhimyarischer Zeit (1. Jh. v. Chr. – 3. Jh. n. Chr.). Dabei handelt es sich um einen Entwicklungsprozess, der u. a. durch bis dato fremde mediterrane Kultureinflüsse hervorgerufen wurde. Eine Analyse dieser neuen Formensprache erfolgt anhand ausgewählter Objekte vor allem aus dem archäologischen Projekt des Ğabal al-ʿAwd (Jemen). |
