Sumario:Recognizing the »signs of the time« – and their reliability – seems to be very contingent. Probably this is the case, because the interrelatedness between »recognized sign« and »recognizing subject« are rarely considered. This article discusses the act of recognition as an act which is related to a person and the world we live in. Only by doing so, the term gains its existential and salvific meaning, because it includes the moment of conversion.
