Описание
Итог:Is martyrdom a sign of hope in Muslim-Christian dialogue? In his Testament, Christian de Chergé insists that his life would be given to God and for his Muslim neighbours, not taken. His approach, which appropriates Jeanne de Chantal's category martyrdom of love emphasizes daily acts of service and surrender both within the monastery and among Muslim neighbours. The witness of Tibhirine provides some indication for how one might understand extraordinary suffering and death neither naïvely nor cynically but as communication of theological hope, and has been continued by the likes of Paolo Dall'Oglio, Frans Van der Lugt, and Jacques Murad.
