520 |a The Declaration of Geneva (World Medical Association) does not yet mention the economic- normative aspects of medical practice. Various ethics code initiatives are now concerned with the area of conflict between economic aspects and the professional ethical behaviour of physicians in hospitals. An economy-related supplement to the current pledge's text seems to make sense. The professional life of hospital physicians could so be taken into account more comprehensively in the Declaration of Geneva in the future and thus strengthen it.
