Sumario:David M. Kirkham's edited volume State Responses to Minority Religions is a timely and important contribution with a strong rationale. Given the contemporary realities of global migration and the consequent increasing religious diversity found in countries around the world, the contributors to this volume set out to describe and explain the variety of state responses to the demands for religious liberty on the part of those belonging to minority faith communities. The interdisciplinary chapters feature contributions by scholars of international law, political scientists, sociologists, experts in religious studies, activists, and policy practitioners.
The book is divided into five sections. The first offers a legal and normative overview of state responses to minority religions, with contributions by W. Cole Durham and Nazila Ghanea....
