AB in el arte no se podría imaginar el pasado. A la luz del arte religioso, se puede entender la manera de concebir la forma de vida de una época y los códigos que regían en la vida cotidiana de determinada cultura.La dimensión esencial, entre el artista y el espectador se funde por medio de las imágenes, que les identifica y los convoca al gran misterio, de encontrarse con lo sagrado plasmado entre colores y figuras específicas que le visibilice, para tener algún tipo de respuesta ante sus búsquedas espirituales.El potencial de inspiración es accesible en las pinturas, y estimulan el inconciente colectivo, realizando transferencias de significados simbólicos de generación en generación, ya que el arte posee su propio lenguaje narrativo, las imágenes se entretejen para contar una historia, es una forma de expresar ideas y de incorporar creencias.Las religiones se han expresado por medio de la creación artística, con sus modelos doctrinales, y han utilizado el arte como medio pedagógico para la evangelización de los pueblos.
