Résumé: | What the normative-ethical category of a supererogatory act really is about can be elucidated above ail through the analysis of significant examples. A seldom discussed example is forgiveness. Its elements or, to be precise, its phenomenological process, is not to be qualified as a supererogatory act as such, because it can also be morally obligatory, but only in case certain conditions are fulfïlled. These conditions concern, above ail, the gravity of the injustice done, the question whether the culprit repents of what he has done and has asked the victim's forgiveness, and also the temporal dimension. |
