Zusammenfassung:In recent years the topic of creation has moved from the margins to the centre of Old Testament interpretation. Although this movement is clearly to be understood in relation to contemporary ecological concerns, it also corrects an intrinsic imbalance within scholarly interpretations of the content of the Old Testament. Thus a major book on the subject by one of America's leading theological interpreters of the Old Testament has obvious resonance and potential., Fretheim's approach is to work with the received, canonical form of the Old Testament; he discusses not only those texts that overtly speak of creation, but also many others where there are implications for understanding creation.
