Zusammenfassung: | This rich Festschrift for Eugene Ulrich, one of the most innovative and respected specialists on the contribution of the Dead Sea Scrolls to the study of the emerging Hebrew Scriptures, includes 25 essays. The list of contributors is impressive. The volume is divided into three parts. Part I is devoted to the Hebrew Bible. Hugh Page, Jr. reflects on the ‘interface between teaching and research’ with particular reference to Israelite origins. Sharon Pace examines the dangers of and pragmatic responses to life in the diaspora as reflected in Daniel 1–6. The late Timo Veijola’s contribution deals with the notice regarding King Og in Deut. 3:11. Frank Moore Cross proposes a new reconstruction for 4QSama 24:16–22. |
