RT Review T1 Threads and Images: The Use of Scripture in Apophthegmata Patrum. By Per Rönnegård JF The journal of theological studies VO 60 IS 2 SP 704 OP 706 A1 Rich, A. D. LA English PB Oxford University Press YR 2009 UL https://www.ixtheo.de/Record/1783725648 AB In this study Per Rönnegård analyses the frequent use of the Bible in the Apophthegmata Patrum by examining the Greek Systematic Collection. He argues that while any of the collections might have been used to consider the way in which biblical material was appropriated, interpreted, and applied to the context of the reading community of the Apophthegmata Patrum, ‘the availability and legibility of a modern text-critical edition’ (p. 6) makes the Greek Systematic Collection a preferred choice. Nevertheless, some reference to and use of other collections is occasionally made. K1 Rezension DO 10.1093/jts/flp061
