AB La teologia trinitaria di Tommaso d’Aquino va oltre la definizione teologica universalmente accettata da fides quaerens intellectum a fides comunicans intellectum. I metodi, così come le tecniche letterarie e pedagogiche utilizzate da Tommaso per presentare la dottrina trinitaria, mostrano la sua intenzione di illustrare la teologia trinitaria come comunicans che in sé contiene l’attività di quaerens. La teologia trinitaria si svolge all’interno dell’«orizzonte» dogmatico della Trinità. In esso si scorge già un concetto guida della teologia trinitaria dell’Aquinate che fin dall’inizio lo indirizza verso un capire che non significa comprendere la Trinità, ma piuttosto comunicarLa. Un teologo che cerca di intendere la fede senza comunicarla non fa teologia nel senso pieno del termine. In questo quadro il quaerens deve sfociare nel comunicans. Questo aspetto viene evidenziato nella teologia trinitaria di Tommaso.
AB The Trinitarian theology of Thomas Aquinas goes beyond the universally accepted definition of theology from fides quaerens intellectum to fides comunicans intelletum. The methods, literary techniques and pedagogical skills used by Aquinas to present the Trinitarian doctrine, display the fundamental intention of Aquinas’ Trinitarian theology as comunicans encompassing the activity of quaerens. Trinitarian theology already functions within the dogmatic «horizon» of the Trinity. An understanding, therefore, guides the Trinitarian theology of Aquinas right from the start directing him to understand not in the sense of comprehending the Trinity but in the sense of communicating the Trinity. A theologian who seeks understanding of the faith without communicating it does not do theology in the full sense of the term. Quaerens, therefore, must overflow into comunicans in the act of theologizing. It is this aspect that is highlighted in the Trinitarian theology of Aquinas.
