Description
Résumé:The writer gives a review of the history of research into the Jewish heritage in Christian worship, also and especially outside Germany up to the present. Through examples from individual texts (I Clement, the Didache eucharistic prayer, the Improparia) and liturgical hymns, he shows how strongly the rich Jewish inheritance still lives in the Christian liturgy. Finally, he pinpoints prayer in the structure of the Beracha, the song of praise beginning with the Creation, and a fixed form of Creed as the three main elements which the Church owes to the Synagogue.
