Σύνοψη: | A well known passage of 1Th (2:14-16) lets Paul accuse the Jews of being responsible for Jesus’ death. The present investigation shows, however, that this interpretation is the result of a wrong punctuation of the text, which, even if absent from the Greek tradition, found its way into the Latin transmission due to the influence of the corresponding “capitulum” of the Vulgate. Future editions should correct the punctuation in order that translations may provide a sound rendering the passage. |
