L'analyse de quelques figures caractéristiques — rapports inattendus, raccourcis, amplifications, tendance au concret, images en négatif — montre comment ce sont les procédés de style mêmes qui ont une portée théologique. Un second chapitre expose le principe de correction réciproque, de veine classique, par lequel les expressions anthropomorphiques, cosmiques, métaphysiques, apophatiques se rectifient mutuellement Enfin une troisième étude est consacrée au thème majeur des anthropomorphismes divers (parties du corps et actions) qui parsèment l'œuvre de Hugo et dont les plus saisissants sont l'œil et les métiers attribués à Dieu. Un second article poursuivra l'éiude de la poétique de Hugo, en examinant le Dieu cosmique, puis l'essai d'une théologie « liminaire » usant d'un langage du seuil, enfin la question controversée de la personnalité du Dieu de Hugo. Beginning with the relations of poetry and theology and introducing to Hugo's religion, this article is treating the theological poetics of Hugo with three studies. The analysis of some characteristic figures—unexpected relations, abridgments, magnifications, a trend to concretness, pictures in their negative state—shows how it is the very stylistic pattern that has a theological import. In a second chapter is set forth the self-correcting principle, of classical source, by which the anthropomorphical, cosmic, metaphysical, apophatical expressions are mutually rectifying. A third chapter is dealing with the major theme of the diverse anthropomorphisms (body's parts and actions) that are strewed along Hugo's work and of which the most striking are the eye and the crafts confered to God. A second article will pursue this study of Hugo's poetics by an investigation on the cosmic God, then on the attempt of a "prefatory" theology using the threshold language, finally on the disputed question of God's personality. | ||
