The retreats were based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius which is a collection of prayers and contemplative practices designed to enhance one’s spirituality. Meditating and spirituality were the most highly rated motivations for going on retreat, and one-quarter of respondents indicated that as a result of the retreat they gained knowledge about God. Factor and regression analyses were used to further explore the relationships between background information, motivation factors, and outcomes. | ||
