Description
Summary:This article provides an exegetical argument for the meaning of the »law of Christ« in the middle recension of the letters of Ignatius of Antioch. I contend that the phrase refers to the commandments of Jesus, which together form a new law that governs the Christian life. Throughout, I engage New Testament scholarship on the law of Christ and conclude the piece with a brief reflection on the relevance of my findings for Pauline scholarship.
