Revolutionary Islam in Iran
The Western tendency, which is prevalent in the media, to analyse Iran in terms of generic notions of ‘Islam’ or ‘fundamentalism’, needs to be contested. This essay shows that a more contextualised analysis of religion in Iran is appropriate and could well have different policy implications.
