AB Obwohl Martin Luther starke Vorbehalte gegenüber der Verwendung philosophischer Terminologie in der Theologie geäußert und die unio des Christen und der Christin mit Christus vor allem in biblischer Sprache oder mit Hilfe von Metaphern und Gleichnissen dargestellt hat, verwendet er immer wieder auch ontologische Grundbegriffe und philosophische Frageschemata, um seine Auffassung vom Christsein möglichst präzise zu formulieren. Der vorliegende Aufsatz geht diesen Ansätzen Luthers nach und zeigt, dass seiner Auffassung von der Rechtfertigung des Sünders ein schlüssiges anthropologisches Konzept zugrunde liegt. Luther versteht den Glauben, die Erkenntnis Gottes in der Annahme des göttlichen Wortes, als Neukonstitution des Selbstseins: In der Relation des Glaubens wird das göttliche Wort bzw. der lebendige, wirkmächtige Christus zur forma, welche das Selbstverhältnis der Glaubenden definiert und ihre Selbstbestimmung orientiert und somit ihr Leben prägt.
AB Although Martin Luther expressed strong reservations against the use of philosophical terminology in theology and described the Christian’s unio with Christ primarily in biblical language or with the help of metaphors and similes, he sometimes also uses basic ontological terms and philosophical question patterns to formulate his concept of being a Christian most precisely. This essay explores these approaches by Luther and shows that his understanding of the justification of the sinner is based on a coherent anthropological conception. Luther understands faith, the knowledge of God in accepting the divine Word, as a reconstitution of selfhood, since in the relation of faith the divine Word or rather the living, efficacious Christ becomes the forma that defines the self-relation of believers and orients their self-determination, thus shaping their lives.
