AB Globalizationisastrongforce.Socialandculturalvaluesonwhichasocietyiserected,sometimesradicallychange,asaresultofglobalization.Thus,Africanrichsocio-culturalvaluesarebeingincessantlypollutedandcorruptedasaresultoftechnologicaldevelopmentorchestratedbyglobalization.Valuere-orientationbecomesgermanebecauseoftheovertandcovertinfluencesandassimilationsofwesternvaluesbyAfricans(especiallythenegativeones)whichhavecreatedaweirdvaluesystemswithdeleteriousconsequencesonAfricansocieties.Thispaperthereforeexaminestheplaceofvaluere-orientationinabatingtheerodingtrendsofthetraditionalAfricansocio-culturalvalues.ItconcludeswiththerecommendationsthatinferioritycomplexthatmakesAfricansbelievethatwesterncultureissuperior,shouldbediscouraged.Itisapoliticalstatementtoclaimthatonecultureissuperiortotheother.Themediashouldbeinforefrontofthisenlightenmentcampaigns.Theroleoffamilyiscriticalinvaluere-orientationbecausenootherinstitutionhasthecapacityintherealtermstoeffectivelyaccomplish this great task.
