Описание
Итог:This article reconstructs how the critique of the enslavement of Black people in North America was connected to the quest for equal dignity and equal rights for all human beings. An important role in this regard played the theologoumenon of the ‘image of God’, which was introduced to the abolitionist discourse as a radical egalitarian concept by the Black abolitionist David Walker. This early contribution to a theology of human dignity was long overlooked. However, it provides the foundation for a theological critique of racism and White supremacy.
