Zusammenfassung:Discussions on the ecumenical vision have been running for years. Since then, many different models of church unity have been presented. Meanwhile, the ecumenical debates have focused on the concept of church fellowship, which originated in the Protestant environment. Whether the concept of the Leuenberg Church Fellowship, elaborated on the European level, also proves to be constructive for the Protestant-Catholic dialogue in general, is disputed on both sides. The prerequisites and conditions of a Catholic concept of church unity are significant in this context. Here, only a re-reading of important documents of the Second Vatican Council can bring clarification.
