Zusammenfassung:The Last Judgment plays only a marginal role in contemporary religious education. This article suspects that the reason for this silence is the threatening speech around the Last Judgment, which has dominated for many years. However, beyond the justified renunciation of this threatening speech, the potential of the thematization of the Last Judgment with regards to didactic modeling should not be underestimated. Central questions about the appreciation of lived life, about final justice as well as about the Christological determination of the relationship between Redeemer and Judge can be didactically perceived in a fruitful manner and dealt with in the face of the concept of judgment.
