RT Article T1 Barmherzigkeit, Geschwisterlichkeit und Gerechtigkeit ?: eine sozialethische Verhältnisbestimmung JF Jahrbuch für biblische Theologie VO 37 SP 351 OP 368 A1 Nothelle-Wildfeuer, Ursula 1960- LA German PB Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht YR 2022 UL https://www.ixtheo.de/Record/1879641852 AB The question of the relationship between justice and charity touches the foundations of Christian social ethics. It also permeates the tradition of social teaching with varying accentuation. Again and again, the simple assignment of the value of justice to the philosophical approach and of love to the theological approach proved to be unsustainable, just as justice cannot simply be assigned to the social context and love to the private context. It is Pope Francis who, in his two social encyclicals, develops a more comprehensive concept of justice that brings together the social and the ecological dimension. Via the basic idea of fraternity, which means as much as the actual recognition of the dignity of each and all human beings, he arrives in Fratelli tutti at a hinge that connects both values and also the associated antinomies of private and public spheres as well as philosophical and theological approaches. This also makes an important contribution to answering the question of the relevance of the theological for a Christian social ethics. DO 10.13109/9783666500398.351
