| Riepilogo: | Three interpretative problems with 1 John 3.23 are addressed. First, it is suggested that the subject of the verse changes halfway through, from ‘God’ to ‘Jesus Christ’. Second, belief ‘in the name’ of Jesus is taken to mean the acknowledgement of Jesus’ ultimate significance.
