Description
Summary:The article reflects on two biblical stories about desert meals which can be found in the books of Genesis, Romans and Matthew. It states that the feeding of the five thousand by Jesus is illumined by the sharp contrast between it and the immediately preceding story of another meal. According to the author, the people receive the grace of the wound of compassion and become sharers in the grace by which all may be fed if they truly see into the meaning of the desert feeding.
