Contemporary Baptist Congregational Singing and the Hymnody of Anne Steele (1717-1778)

This article reflects on past and present tends in Baptist worship. Attention is given to some themes in the hymns of Anne Steele (1717-1778) and it is argued that Steele's emphasis on bringing all of life's experiences to God has something to teach contemporary Baptists.
