Описание
Итог:The author gives information on models of pluralism in general, pluralism in Christian realms, pluralism in Muslim realms and pluralism in the Ottoman-Turkish polity. + Pluralism as a significant dimension of democracy is closely related to the nature of the relationship of state and religion. Thus the realms of Christianity and Islam present two contrasting patterns. The author shows, that the Ottoman-Turkish polity, although it belongs to the realms of Islam, differed from the other Muslim polities in this respect, which had great impact on the fortunes of pluralism in Turkey today: "The legacy of the 1980s in Turkey may well be the eventual consolidation of pluralism, reinforced by a less conflictual relationship between the state and religion. In other Middle Eastern regimes, which could not effect a separation between religion and the state, even a glimmer of pluralism is still not in sight." (DÜI-Mjr)
