Darin wird ein großes Potenzial für die Aufklärung, Teilhabe und Selbstbestimmung von Patienten in Gesundheitsfragen gesehen. Das gilt für Online-Informationen im Internet, aber auch für die personenbezogenen Gesundheitsdaten in elektronischen Patientenakten. Beide Handlungsfelder werden zunächst anhand der empirischen Studienlage vorgestellt und mit Blick auf die Autonomieermöglichung und Behandlungsqualität diskutiert. Während die Einsichtnahme in die eigenen Krankendaten sowohl die Mit- und Selbstbestimmung der Patienten als auch die Qualität der Behandlung fördern können, zeigt sich am Umgang mit Online-Informationen, dass präferenzsensitive Medizin ohne Evidenzbasis dem Patienten schaden kann. Daher ist eine qualitative Beurteilung von Gesundheitsinformationen im Internet Voraussetzung für deren ethische Unbedenklichkeit und damit zu fordern. Wege hierfür werden vorgeschlagen. | ||
| 520 | |a Today, electronic health information has become readily available and promises fostering patient empowerment, participation and autonomy in health care. This applies to health information on the internet as well as to personal health data in electronic records. Both areas will be analyzed with respect to the available empirical data and discussed in view of contributions to patient autonomy and the quality of care. While access to personal health data seems beneficial for patient participation and quality of care, the evaluation of using online-information shows that preference based without evidence based medicine can harm the patient. Hence appraising the quality of patient online information is a prerequisite for its ethical desirability. Ways of supporting quality online are outlined. | ||
