總結: | Islam and Pancasila as the basis of the state were first debated in a sitting of the "Committee to Investigate Preparations for Indonesia's Independence" in June 1945. At that time, the Islamic groups were not ready conceptionally. The next debate occured in the Constituent Assembly, with the Islamic groups consisting of a combination of representatives from the Pesantren and from the intellectuals with a background of general education. But no meeting of minds was ever achieved. Although the Islamic groups failed to incorporate the Islamic ideals fully into the constitutions, these attempts were not totally in vain. (DÜI-Sen) |
