Summary: | Over centuries, memorizing biblical and traditional Christian texts has been a dominant teaching method of Christian education in the Protestant Churches, especially in conflrmation classes. Today, far various reasons, memorizing is among the most disputed and criticized means of modern confirmation work. The article explores both the arguments far and against memorizing basic texts of Christian belief in confirmation groups and develops promising perspectives far sustainable "inward - outward" learning experiences far teenagers which include memorizing practices in a theologically founded and pedagogically reflected way. |
