Taking into account the distinctive perspective of the Jeremiah tradition on questions such as the rebuilding of the Jerusalem temple and its priesthood, the paper proposes that those who produced the book of Jeremiah were outsiders to the Jerusalem establishment in Persian Yehud. It identifies Mizpah as the place where the book was produced, and the Shaphan family as the scribal group responsible for its writing. |
