Description
Résumé:The contribution emerges from a study of the canonical and theological roots of the necessity of having a presbytery for the complete care of souls (can. 150). Having as reference the communal vision of Church and the doctrine of the Sacrament of Holy Orders of Vatican II, the responsibility of the priests in the parish is read as an essential relationship with Christ, the Head, and the tasks that are reserved to Him (which tasks are also briefly compared with the mission entrusted to the other faithful) are therefore diminished by, on one hand by reducing everything to a celebrative component. The study, therefore, examines the consequences of such a setup over the difficult task of assigning priests (not just parish priests) on the part of the bishop to the specific parochial communities (or groups of parishes), keeping in account the challenges offered by the decrease number of vocations in the western world.
