Summary: | City Rodrigo (Salamanca) suffered a hard siege of Napoleonic troops between April and July, 1810, and in spite of the heroic resistance, one had to exhaust 10 of last month and metioned year. It was reconquered by the troops that there was ordering the general Wellington, to whom then would give himself the Duke's title of City Rodrigo. But in the intermediate period, under the intruder French government, there were pillaged the persons' bookshops and institutions, private and public, to constitute the first public municipal library mirobrigense, dated in 1811.
