Censorship has been widely studied as it was manifest in the Biedermeier period, during the Nazi era, and in East Germany, yet to date, there has been an alarming lack of attention to this issue in relation to West Germany or the modern, unified Germany Zum ersten Mal wird die Nachhaltigkeit eines staatszentrierten Verständnisses von Zensur in Frage gestellt, das auf Traditionen des Liberalismus des 19 Jahrhundert zurückgeht.
